PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
A Plattsburgh man is accused of sexually abusing a one-year-old girl. Police say 45-year-old Joseph Harris rubbed the child's genitals during a supervised visit. Case workers say they saw him touch the child. And think he may have thought they weren't looking when he did it. The abuse was immediately reported to police.
"We take all of these cases very seriously, it's unfortunate that we have to investigate these types of cases, but that's what we're there for and we're going to do the best job we can," Lieutenant Patrick Rascoe of the Plattsburgh Police Department said.
Police say the child is safe and Child Protective Services is involved.
Harris was arrested and charged with first degree sexual abuse. He has not made bail.
