Police Investigating Phone Scam in Brattleboro, VT Area

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -

Police are investigating a phone scam in the Brattleboro, Vt. area.

According to a press release, callers say they are associated with Microsoft and have detected a problem with the person's computer. The callers then ask to get remote access to the computer. If they get access they request payment through credit card, debit card, or PayPal.

Police say they are advising citizens not to allow access to your computer or financial information to anyone who contacts you.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brattleboro Police Department at (802)-257-7946.
