MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Taking his campaign by bike, Lt. Governor Phil Scott finished his more than 500 mile bike ride around the state of Vermont Tuesday.

He pedaled through 14 of the state's counties taking him around 8 days to do so.

He says it was a great way to meet people and see the state.

While many politicians drove town to town to campaign, this was a unique and personal way to get his message out there.

"People were gracious and welcoming before they even knew who I was, so that's the thing we have with Vermont is the graciousness, of the people, whether I was a politician or not, they were welcoming," Lt. Governor Phil Scott (R-Vt.) said.

Scott is running for a second term against Progressive Democrat Cassandra Gekas.
