BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Today, the University of Vermont officially welcomed new President Thomas Sullivan in a ceremony at the Ira Allen Chapel.
Senator Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Walter Mondale all spoke highly of Sullivan's character and career. Sullivan outlined his vision for UVM's future which included improved campus facilities, increased civic engagement and more financial aid to students.
"We must provide our students access to success through scholarships and financial aid" Sullivan said.
"Affordability must be our top priority!"
The total cost for an in-state undergraduate at UVM fell by nearly one thousand dollars between last school year and this one.
