Advice for Leaf Clean-up

WILLISTON, Vt. -

Vermont's Tourism Department reports fall foliage is near-peak in the mountains and is appearing all over the valleys.

That might have a lot of people wondering what to do when the leaves fall off?

So we asked the staff at the Chittenden Solid Waste District.  They tell us they will take leaves for free.  All you need to do is rake and bag them up.

"When you're bringing in your leaves, put them in a paper bag, a compostable paper bag and it's available at most hardware stores and grocery stores. Then you can bring them on in and the bag, the leaf, and the yard debris can all be composted," says Clare Innes, Chittenden Solid Waste District.

Now we're told you can use plastic bags but you'll have to dump the leaves out.
