RUTLAND, Vt. -
To help remember Carly Ferro, her family is holding a memorial service Saturday at the Rutland Country Club.
A place that some say is fitting because of her love of the game.
Ferro could frequently be found playing on the Rutland links.
She was a member of the high school golf team.
The club's pro golfer worked with the teen for nearly 8 years.
He says celebrating her life here is fitting.
"I think that she spent so much time here that there are so many members here that really loved her, enjoyed her being around. Yeah I think it is a fitting spot to celebrate her life," said Greg Nelson.
Saturday's service is open to the public and begins at eleven.
Her family has asked instead of flowers, donations can be made to Vermont's Golf Association.
