GENEVA -
The World Health Organization wants to warn everyone about a new SARS-like virus.
The agency classified this new virus as a corona virus, a class which includes the common cold as well as SARS.
They urge healthcare workers to watch for patients with unexplained respiratory illness combined with fever and cough.
The UN Health Council says the virus has infected a man who recently traveled to Saudi Arabia where another man with an almost identical virus had already died.
"It's a virus which causes pneumonia and pretty rapid kidney failure," Gregory Hartl, WHO Spokesperson, said. "We don't know if it's going to kill a lot of people or if this is just a virus which will pop up on occasion and then disappear again, we don't know how it's transmitted yet even, if it transmits from person to person or from animal to human."
WHO says it is working closely with Saudi Arabia to support the country's health measures for all visitors.
