Vermont Apple Growers Get National Attention

Posted: Updated:
WILLISTON, Vt. -

A bad apple crop across the country might be good for some Vermont farmers.

That's because some national brands, including Mott's, want the Green Mountain State's apples.

The owner of Adams' Apple Orchard in Williston says Mott's contacted him looking for his fruit, something he says never happened before.

This comes after crops in Michigan and New York were destroyed from unusual spring weather.

"Apple orchards in Vermont, Northern New England that have crops will be making out much better with the commercial market this year," said Adams' Apple Orchard owner John Adams.

Adams' declined though, so you and I could still enjoy picking apples at his orchard.

We reached out to Mott's to see if they found another Vermont orchard, but our calls weren't returned.
