Burlington Police Arrest One Man For Two Crimes Monday Night

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Burlington Police arrested one man for two crimes.   

Police say 39-year-old Travis Lee Leplant a transient has ties to the Burlington, Vt. area. They say he is responsible for the burglary of Henry's Diner Saturday night.

A window was smashed at the Diner and Leplant made off with some cash. He was caught on surveillance video.

Police also say Leplant assaulted and robbed a 23-year-old woman Monday night. The woman was getting gas at Champlain Farms on Shelburne Road when Leplant took her purse.

Police say the woman chased him and then he struck her in the face. Leplant also struck a 20-year-old Burlington resident in the face who tried to help the female victim. He was transported to Fletcher Allen for non life threatening injuries.

Police arrested him at the Cumberland Farms on Pine Street.

He is being held at the Chittenden County Correctional Center.
