SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. -
Police arrested a New York woman Sunday afternoon in an arson fire that occurred on May 23 in Saranac Lake, N.Y.
According to a press release, Nancy Nixon, 34, of Saranac Lake, N.Y., is accused of starting a fire at an apartment complex on Park Avenue in Saranac Lake, N.Y.
Police say at the time of the fire, the apartments were occupied by sleeping residents. Everyone was able to escape without injury.
The apartment building sustained heavy damage from the fire and smoke.
Police say they are still investigating and following up on additional leads.
Nixon is charged with 2nd degree arson, 2nd degree criminal mischief and 8 counts of 1st degree reckless endangerment.
