The world's quickest blog! Just had to share 2 very noteable "this day in history" facts for you.
First, for Thursday Sept 20: On this date in 1845: A powerful tornado (or what is now believed to be multiple tornadoes) crossed the Adirondacks, finishing as a water spout over LakeChamplain, crossing just south of Port Kent east to South Burlington!
and for Friday Sept 21: On this date in 1938: The Great Hurricane of 1938 came through New England. It is still considered the worst hurricane in New England's history. The storm center crossed Vermont from Brattleboro to Burlington in just two hours, leveling tens of thousands of trees, and causing major flooding in southern Vermont.
