Relief at the Pump? Gas Prices Drop For the Third Consecutive Day

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

Good news for drivers as gas prices across the country are steadily dropping for the third consecutive day.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas is now $3.86.

In our area, we're still seeing higher prices on average.

New Yorkers paying the most at $4.12/gallon. Gas prices in Vermont average $3.97/gallon. New Hampshire is paying on average $3.91/gallon.

The rise in costs at the gas pump was blamed on disruptions from Hurricane Isaac. AAA says high crude oil prices were also a factor.
