BAKERSFIELD, Vt. -
A home in Bakersfield, Vt. was destroyed after a fire Wednesday night.
According to a press release, when fire officials arrived, the garage at the home on Whitney Road was on fire and was spreading into the residence. It took Bakersfield, Cambridge, East Fairfield and Fairfield fire departments over 4 hours to gain control of the fire.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire because no one was home at the time.
The fire is still under investigation, but is not being considered suspicious.
Damages are estimated to be in excess of $200,000.
