WATERBURY, Vt. -
The Vermont Department of Public Safety has approved two medical marijuana dispensaries.
According to a press release, the first approval is for the Champlain Valley Dispensary which will be located in Burlington, Vt. The second approval is for the Patients First Inc. which will be located in Waterbury, Vt.
Other applications for medical marijuana dispensaries are undergoing review. The Medical Marijuana Program (VMMP) allows up to 4 dispensaries to operate throughout the state.
Once approved, the press release states, the dispensaries should open within 6 months.
The period for accepting applications is currently closed.
