WASHINGTON -

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development approves Vermont for a $21.6 million recovery plan.

HUD announced Tuesday, the Green Mountain state gets more than $21 million in emergency aid to help with last year's flooding.

This grant helps with long term recovery efforts that have yet to start.

This comes from the $300 million funds Congress approved 2011 for disaster recovery in the most impacted and distressed areas.
