Two Men Charged For Mining on A Vt. Wildlife Area

Two men are charged for mining on a Vermont State Wildlife area.

According to a press release, Robert J. LaPorte, of Shaftsbury, Vt., and Philip G. Yerke, of Waterford, N.Y. were digging and extracting quartz crystal rock material on Bird Mountain Wildlife Management Areas in the towns of Ira, Castleton and Poultney.

Both men are subject to a fine of $2,500 and the loss of their license to fish, hunt, or trap in Vermont for 1 year.
