LOWELL, Vt. -
Progress is being made on the Lowell Wind Project.
18 turbines are up, although some aren't fully together yet. The plan calls for 20 or 21 total.
Existing transmission lines will carry the power to Vermont utilities.
According to project officials, the turbines will generate enough electricity to power nearly 20,000 homes in the state.
They also say this project will keep more power dollars local and will contribute to stabilizing electric prices.
