NEW YORK -

A nonprofit group that encourages Americans to remember 9/11 by doing good deeds in their communities will ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks.

Representatives of MyGoodDeed will visit the NYSE on Tuesday, on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11.  Family members of 9/11 victims also are scheduled to participate.

They will observe a moment of silence at 9:25 a.m.

The group began the 9/11 Day of Observance in 2002.

Supporters of the day are encouraged to `like' the 9/11 Facebook page and follow the observance on Twitter at twitter.com/911day, #911day.

The 9/11 Day of Observance was formally recognized by presidential proclamation in 2008.

The group says it's become the nation's largest annual day of charitable activity.
