Posted: Updated:
WILLISTON, Vt. -

The popular web hosting company "GoDaddy" was hacked and shut down for a period of time Monday. A local small business in Williston was one of the many victims. "Urban Dance Complex" says its website was completely shut down early Monday afternoon. A hacker is responsible but the motivation isn't clear. Some news outlets report that "GoDaddy", has been a target of hackers' because it publicly supported federal anti-piracy legislation.

Whatever the reason, Urban Dance Complex says an outage like this can really hurt business, "We are a seasonal business so when school gets going, that's when people register here and get their kids dancing and if they can't find us, they may assume we're closed or we are no longer here so it's a huge blow to our business," says Director, Sarah Cover.

The Urban Dance Complex website was back up and running Monday night. GoDaddy's website, says  no  sensitive information was  compromised.
