Waterbury, Vt. Leaders Address Parking Concerns

Posted: Updated:

To fix the parking problem in downtown Waterbury, Vermont, leaders have put up a number of signs.

Seven new signs have been put up, helping people find municipal lots.

They also cut away branches that once hid them.

Village leaders say the signs cost a few hundred dollars.

For some people they think its money well spent.

"I think that we want to do everything that we can to, to bring people into the downtown especially after the effects of Irene. We want to help people find their way to the parking lots and there's some good businesses that are open, some good restaurants," said Karin Tierney.

Leaders say they're not done addressing parking concerns.

They plan to make more changes before hundreds of state workers returns once the Waterbury complex is complete.
