BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Police responded to an armed robbery at the Rotary Mart on Shelburne Road Tuesday.

Police say a woman entered the store displayed what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money from the clerk.

Reports show a fight broke out after the clerk questioned whether the gun was real.

The fight went out to the parking lot where a second female suspect appeared.

She displayed a knife and threatened to stab the clerk if he didn't let the first suspect go.

The gun was retrieved at the scene and determined to be a replica.

One suspect is described as being a white female, approximately 5'8" tall, heavier build, brown curly shoulder length hair, 20-30 years old, wearing a white t-shirt under a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses. The second suspect is described as being a white female with short brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at (802)-658-2700.
