HOLLAND, Vt. -

The former town clerk of the Vermont border town of Holland is donating a portion of the farm she and her husband worked for 67 years and $350,000 to a trust that will help build housing for the community's senior citizens.

Ninety-two-year-old Evelyn Page carried through on plans she and her late husband Reginald made to "do something" with their farmland and life savings.

Last spring Page offered five acres and $350,000 to the non-profit affordable housing developer Gilman Housing Trust.

The Caledonian Record reports the project will consist of two senior residential units with a common area at the corner of Page Hill and Holland Pond roads, where Reginald's maternal ancestors farmed since the early 1800s.

The Pages had a dairy farm on the land from 1935 to 2002.
