BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Over 40 groups from all over Vermont and New England got together today to discuss people's rights, and grassroots politics. The first things they looked at were problems they have in the state and ways to resolve them. The groups are also holding numerous workshops throughout the weekend for topics including healthcare, housing and education.
"I hope that they come away with a sense that we have formed a real movement here. That we are joining together with other groups and we are going to push forward this agenda of having a healthy planet and that people should be first in our communities," said Sarah Launderville, with the Vermont Center for Independent living.
