KEESEVILLE, N.Y. -
"He was an amazing guy, his life was those girls," Carie Mattox.
Police say Robert Rennie, 45 of Keeseville, father of two was killed.
"Not releasing cause of death until the criminal investigation has been completed," said New York State Police Captain Robert LaFountain.
Police aren't even saying whether or not they have any suspects, but they are following leads.
"Several search warrants have been obtained and are being executed," said LaFountain.
Rennie was last seen Saturday night.
"My step father took him for a ride, dropped him off at the hill and that's the last we saw of him," said Mattox.
Flowers have been brought to the site where Rennie's body was found early Sunday morning beneath a bridge, which is no more than a mile away from where he was living.
"I'm waiting for him to walk in the front door," said Mattox.
A family so clearly in shock, grieving the loss and longing for answers.
"Today it's hitting harder. It'll get worse as time goes on," said Glen Brown.
Anyone who has any information, or may have seen him is being asked to contact the New York State Police and until someone has been arrested, police say to use caution.
Several hours after Rennie's body was found police say a man who was staying next door was taken out in handcuffs.
Police tell Fox44 his name is Paul Taylor and that he was just released from prison for a manslaughter conviction.
Taylor was arrested on a rape charge and is being held without bail.
Police refused to say whether or not he is connected to this crime.
