Burlington Mayor Weinberger to Present Thoughts on Paying for Burlington Bike Path Repairs

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The fate of the Burlington Bike Path hangs in the balance Monday.

Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger will present his thoughts on paying over $10 million to rehab the path to the finance board Monday night.

The 7 mile stretch from Oakledge Park, in the southern end of the city, to the Winooksi River, in the northern end, has seen better days.

The weather has taken a toll on it, including 2011 flooding from Lake Champlain. The flooding eroded portions of the path.

The other end of the path in Colchester, Vt. is already getting a facelift. Crews are also working on the bike ferry.
