ALBANY, N.Y. -

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo just signed a law making the state tougher on sex offenders.

High level offenders' photographs will be updated every 90 days.

The state will ensure their parole transcripts are shared with mental health officials, considering possible civil confinement.

Police will have to be notified when a licensed healthcare provider faces an investigation for sexual misconduct.

Just last year, the state arrested 5,500 people for sex crimes.
