Tropical Storm Ernesto Forms In The Atlantic

Posted: Updated:

It's been a pretty quiet tropical season so far in the Atlantic basin. The 5th named tropical system of the 2012 season has formed. Say hello to Ernesto!

Ernesto became a named system on Thursday evening as sustained winds reached about 50mph. Overall, Ernesto is not well organized...no well defined circulation is present. Nonetheless, the National Hurricane Center forecasts Ernesto to track to the west over the next several days with impacts to Barbados tonight (Thursday night) with a general movement toward the northern windward islands by Friday morning.

Watch my video above for details on Ernesto and the forecast.
