MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Local and state officers are in Montpelier Thursday learning about popular drugs called ‘bath salts.'

Bath salts, which, despite their name, have no use in the tub, are different variations of the compound called cathinone.

The officers will be learning about the drugs and state's new regulated drugs rule.

Last week 86 drugs, including bath salts, were added to the rule.

Many of the drugs had been sold as harmless products and marketed under an array of brands.

Fox44's Jenny Day will have much more on this story and what officers are learning at 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. on ABC22 Thursday; and at 10 p.m. on Fox44.
