MONTPELIER, Vt. -
A pub in Montpelier only had minor damage following a fire Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to McGillicuddy's Irish Pub just after 6:30 a.m.
Montpelier Fire Chief Robert Gowan says crews discovered a grease fire on the stove. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire.
Gowan says no one was in the restaurant at the time of the fire. He is unsure if the stove was left on.
Damage was limited to the kitchen area. No injuries were reported.
The restaurant will be closed Monday. All other area businesses will be open.
