SOUTH BARRE, Vt. -
Barre, Vermont city leaders say after a story we ran Monday night, they're asking police to remove illegal drugs we saw in the store.
Last week, state leaders announced 86 types of hallucinating drugs were illegal to own and sell.
But as we learned, not everyone has removed it from their shelves.
The Fired-up Smoke Shop in South Barre we saw a number of products that are now illegal in Vermont.
Barre leaders say after seeing the story they asked Vermont state police to go to the store and confiscate the drugs.
Leaders hope this will encourage others to speak up if they see the illegal products on the shelves.
"Our patience is wearing thin, and at some point ignorance of the law isn't going to be an excuse," said Barre Mayor Thomas Lauzon.
Despite taking the drugs, leaders say the store won't be fined.
They say if they are caught selling the drugs in the future however that won't be the case.
