Sen. Bernie Sanders Introducing Two Bills to Help Stimulate the Economy

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders (I) is introducing two new bills to help stimulate the economy.

Sanders is pushing for expansion of employee owned businesses.

His first bill would provide federal funding to states to establish and expand employee ownership centers.

These places would help folks create company stock and cooperatives.

The second bill would create a "US Employee Ownership Bank" to provide loans and loan guarantees to employees.

"The studies are very clear that when people have a say in the way that their job is being done, when they have a say in how the company moves forward, absenteeism goes way way down, productivity goes up, profits go up and the workers themselves feel very good," Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said.

Sanders says millions of Americans get head starts with these programs already.

He wants to see millions more become successful business owners.
