BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Health officials in Vermont say 10 people have gotten sick from eating salmonella-contaminated ground beef linked to a Pennsylvania plant owned by Cargill Inc.

Cargill Beef recalled 29,339 pounds of the meat that was produced on May 25 and shipped to distribution points in New York, Maine and Connecticut, for further distribution.

The Vermont Department of Health says out of the 10 who got sick, three were hospitalized. Those people have since recovered.
