32 Vt National Guard Members Due Back from Senegal

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

      (AP) - Thirty-two members of the Vermont National Guard are due home after two weeks in Senegal supporting "Western Accord," a multi-national medical support mission in the west African nation.

      The soldiers and airmen from the Army and Air Guard are due to arrive Sunday on commercial flights at the Burlington International Airport.

      Overseas the service members provided medical care to over 1,400 Senegalese citizens. More than 400 others received free dental care and extractions.

      "Western Accord" is a joint service, multi-national exercise that included active and reserve members from the United States, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Gambia and Guinea Bissau.
