ESSEX, Vt. -
Vermont's top federal prosecutor, Tristram Coffin, announced during Friday's press conference that Bill and Lorraine Currier were murdered and abducted between June 8-10.
According to Coffin, the bodies Currier couple were not found during their search of the Coventry, Vt. landfill.
Officials say a suspect is being held in another state for another crime. They wouldn't elaborate on who the suspect is or where he is being held.
FBI agent, Danny Rachek, says it took 11 weeks, 178 FBI agents to go through more than 13,000 cubic yards of trash at the landfill.
No word on charges or when they will be filed.
Here are some important developments in the case:
On June 8, 2011, Bill and Lorraine Currier were reported missing, after they didn't show up for work.
Police found their car near their home on June 10, 2011. Shortly after, Police released a sketch of a man that they say was spotted driving the Currier's car. We would later learn from Police that sketch hurt their investigation because it led them on leads that didn't pan out.
Later in June, the Currier's family came forward with a $10,000 reward.
It wasn't until mid-July when Police finally said they believed foul play was suspected in the Currier's disappearance.
In April, Police dug up a home that had been demolished on Route 15.
And now, one year later, federal authorities are now in control of the investigation that's focused on a landfill in Coventry, Vt. That search has lasted nearly a month.
