BURLINGTON, Vt. -
It's been about a year since Ralph Bell was stabbed to death on a railroad bridge connecting Burlington, Vt. to Winsooki, Vt.
His former companion is accused of causing his death and is awaiting trial.
Last night in Burlington's old North End, Bell's friends gathered to remember and celebrate the 54-year-old.
The night featured a balloon release and the dedication of a new urn for Bell's ashes.
"We sure do miss him, but we know he is resting in peace and we are glad we could do this for him," Margaret Bell, Ralph's mother said.
Murder suspect Daniel Whalon is still being held. A trial date is pending.
