PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
The weather put a damper on the first day of the Clinton County Fair in Plattsburgh.
Fair organizers say the threat of severe weather appeared to keep a lot of people away and forced some rides to be shut down for a bit.
Fair staff say they are ready for storms like these.
"We have everybody in place from EMS to sheriff's department to all our weather stations and we're keeping everybody posted and we have plenty of room for people to get out of the weather in case it gets bad," says Glenn Gillespie, fair manager.
Fair staff and vendors hope better weather brings out more people and business.
