BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Federal prosecutors in Vermont say a Pennsylvania man is going to prison for six years for his conviction on charges he sold cocaine in the Burlington area.

Prosecutors say 41-year-old Jorge Peralta of Newtown, Penn., was sentenced last week by U.S. District Court Judge J. Garvan Murtha.

Court records say Peralta bought cocaine in New York City and transported it to Vermont where it was sold to lower level distributors.

Peralta was arrested on March 31, 2011, after his apartment was searched by police.

He pleaded guilty to charges in the case in January.
