BURLINGTON, Vt. -
There are new details this morning on a fatal crash that happened in Burlington, Vt.
Michael Sears, 60, of Shelburne, Vt., pleaded no contest to reckless endangerment in a early February crash, killing a pedestrian.
According to the Burlington Free Press, Sears was sentenced to one year probation.
Police say, he hit 63-year-old Bruce LaPointe on Barrett Street with his pickup.
LaPoint died 9 days later of head injuries.
Chittenden County State's Attorney, T.J. Donovan says, the evidence didn't support a more serious charge.
Police say, Sears was not texting, drunk or driving too fast.
