Gun Sales Up Across the Country

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

Gun sales in the country are up across the board.

According to the FBI, the number of background checks being conducted to purchase a firearm, jumped more than 2 million in just one year's time. That's up seven million since 2005.

Experts say, it's because so many fear President Barack Obama will tighten gun regulations if he is re-elected.

Some say, they're just not taking any chances.

"I've considered getting my CHL before I've put it off and put it off but here I've decided to get it in case I can't get it later," Susan Swafford, a new gun owner, said.

President Obama says, he has not done anything to curb the rights of gun owners since becoming president. He argues, his Administration has actually expanded rights, if anything, by allowing people to pack heat in places like National Parks.
