CHELSEA, Vt. -
A 21-year-old New Hampshire man is going to spend a minimum of 15 years in prison after his guilty plea to a manslaughter charge in the death of his girlfriend's 1-year-old daughter.
Alexander Stolte of Andover, N.H., was sentenced Thursday in Vermont Superior Court in Chelsea for the death of Kyleigh McDaniel, also of Andover.
New Hampshire's Concord Monitor reports that as part of a plea agreement, Stolte will spend 15-to-30 years in prison with credit for time served since his arrest. He had been set to go on trial this summer on a charge of second-degree murder.
Stolte was staying in Chelsea with family and babysitting when he slammed Kyleigh to the ground when she wouldn't stop crying.
He later called 911 when he found Kyleigh wasn't breathing.
