Police: Man Stabbed in Barton, Vt. Wednesday

BARTON, Vt. -

Vermont State Police responded to a stabbing in Barton, Vt. Wednesday, June 6.

Police say, Anthony "Running Bear" Oxendine, 47, of Barton, Vt. is accused of stabbing and slashing Todd Medeiros, 50, of Barton, Vt., on Main Street in Barton, Vt.

Medeiros was treated and released from North Country Hospital. Oxendine was also treated at North Country Hospital for concussion-like symptoms. He was released before Vermont State Police were able to interview him.

Police say, they tried to locate and arrest Oxendine for several days prior to him being flash cited into Orleans District Court Tuesday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
