BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A 55-year-old Vermont woman who pleaded guilty to charges she sold illegal prescription drugs from her Alburgh home is going to spend more than eight years in federal prison.

Elizabeth Boudreau was sentenced Monday in federal court in Rutland to 104 months in prison.

Court records say Boudreau and her partner David Sullivan sold large quantities of controlled substances, including oxycodone. Prosecutors say that between May and October of 2011 alone, Boudreau and Sullivan acquired over $250,000 worth of prescription pills and possessed handguns to protect their drugs and the proceeds of their drug dealing.

Law enforcement agents searched the home on Oct. 17 and recovered thousands of dollars, hundreds of pills, and several firearms.

Sullivan is due to be sentenced on Wednesday.
