WASHINGTON, Vt. -

A Washington, Vt. man wanted for aggravated domestic assault, was arrested without incident.

Police say, Alfred Perreault, 68, assaulted a female victim around 8:45 p.m. Saturday. The victim was transported to Central Vermont Hospital to receive medical treatment. Perreault left the scene and could not be located. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

A press release states that police learned through interviews with neighbors and the female victim, that Perreault made threats directed toward himself and police. Police were unable to contact Perreault; however, his car was at his residence.

As a safety precaution, Vermont State Police say, they called the Tactical Support Unit (TSU) and Hostage Negotiations Unit (HNU) to assist in the arrest. Perreault was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Monday. He was transported to Central Vermont Hospital to receive medical treatment for injuries related to Saturday's domestic incident.

Police say, once Perreault is able, he will be transported and processed for aggravated domestic assault.
