HYDE PARK, Vt. -
25-year-old Sydney McLean-Lipinski and 21-year-old Nate Jobe stood outside the Lamoille County courthouse Wednesday.
The two Hyde Park residents are accused of luring a teen to the Hyde Park fire station in March.
Police say the two didn't act alone.
One night police say the two reached out to 24-year-old Joshua Kapusta and hatched a plan to convince a training cadet to meet them at the station.
Police say when the teen walked to the second floor, he was hit with pellets from an airsoft gun.
Then they say Jobe tried to tackle him and McLean-Lipinski attempted to put him in cuffs.
The teen got away and police say he didn't find it funny and told his mom what happened.
In April, the Hyde Park select board suspended Kapusta and McLean-Lipinski from the force.
Wednesday McLean-Lipinski and Jobe were charged with unlawful restraint and simple assault.
Kapusta pleaded not guilty to simple assault.
All three had nothing to say as they left the courthouse.
Police say the trio was going to take it one step further.
After capturing the teen at the fire station they wanted to take him about a half an hour north to the Town of Eden and they were just going to leave him on a back road.
If convicted McLean-Lipinski and Jobe face up to six years in prison and Kapusta a year.
We reached out to Hyde Park fire Chief Edwin Webster to see if the trio was still firefighters.
He didn't return our calls.
