MILTON, Vt. -
Two Milton High School seniors admit involvement in vandalizing the school as part of a "senior prank."
Police say, the two students entered the Milton Middle/High School between the hours of 11 p.m. Monday and 12 a.m. Tuesday. Both individuals had their faces covered; one was wearing a Spiderman mask and the other had cloth wrapped around his face and head.
Once inside, a press release says, the students placed duct tape over the school's surveillance cameras, damaging one, and then moved furniture, opened lockers, placed wrapping paper over windows, and used red and white paint to create a fake "crime scene." The fake "crime scene" consisted of a chalk outline of a body on the floor, which was made from white paint, and blood splatter made from red paint on the floor, walls and ceiling.
One of the individuals was identified as Brandon Beliveau, 18, of Milton, Vt. by school administrators. Police say they spoke with Beliveau at his home and he admitted to being involved and that the incident. He said the incident was part of the "senior prank" and "had gone too far." The second individual, Stephen Menard, 18, of Milton, Vt. admitted to being the other person involved. Police say, Menard also said the incident was part of the "senior prank" and it had "gone too far."
Both said they exited the building through a sky-light by using a rope ladder.
Total damage is estimated to be $900. Both were cited into Chittenden County Superior Court to answer to the burglary charge. Police say, neither Beliveau or Menard had a criminal history. If convicted, both could face imprisonment up to 15 years, a fine up to $1,000, or both.
