CONCORD, N.H. -

Officials say a New Hampshire Army National Guard helicopter was used to airlift a hiker suffering a medical condition from near the summit of Mount Hale in Bethlehem.

State Police say conservation officers and other rescuers were called to the mountain at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday after 51-year-old Kerry Barnsley of Penacook suffered what appears to have been a heat-related illness.

A Blackhawk helicopter flew to Mount Hale from Concord and picked up Barnsley at about 4 p.m. Barnsley was flown to the Littleton Regional Hospital for evaluation.

Barnsley's condition was not immediately available.
