Police Investigating Vehicle Break-Ins In Barre, Vt.

BARRE, Vt. -

The Barre City Police Department is investigating a string of multiple vehicle break-ins that took place during the early morning hours on Wednesday.

A press release says, residents from Lower Berlin, Smith, Railroad, Cambria, Elliston, High Holborn, Blackwell and Humbert Street neighborhoods had their vehicles broken into.

Two suspects were dressed in black hoodies carrying backpacks entered both locked and unlocked vehicles. Police say, any vehicles that were locked had high value items (purses, wallets, checkbooks) within plain view. The suspects smashed the car windows and stole those items.

Surveillance video was given to police by a local business owner. Police say they are currently reviewing it.
