BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. -
A fire ripped through a motel in Beekmantown, New York on Wednesday morning.
Multiple agencies responded to a fire at the Stonehelm Motel on Spellman Road just after 7 a.m.
At the time of the fire, 18 people were in the motel, according to fire officials. One person was brought to the hospital.
Half of the motel was destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross has been called in to help.
This is not the first time this motel has been in the news. Back in February 2010, Buck Boula was caught cooking meth at the motel. There was also another fire at the Stonehelm Motel due to a faulty fan.
