Study: Sleep Apnea is Linked to Higher Cancer Risk

Posted: Updated:

New research shows sleep apnea is linked to a higher cancer risk.

A University of Wisconsin study reveals, people with the most severe sleep apnea, had almost 5 times the risk of cancer death compared to someone without sleep apnea.

While the study does not prove a cause-and-effect relationship, the association between the two was quite strong.

About 28 million Americans have some form of sleep apnea, though many cases go undiagnosed.
