BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The Queen City needs to come up with a solution, for out of control city drivers.
The City Council will talk about this Monday night. The problem? Too many people are using up to two spaces, or blocking neighbors driveways. Some of the answers could be painting lines to see where the parking spots are and where the driveways end. Also, limiting the number of parking permits that are issued.
"If you have four people living in a house, you can get eight passes and then if somebody loses a pass, they can go get another pass, it creates a lot of passes, with not than many parking spaces," Joan Shannon, President of the City Council said.
The City Council is asking for the issue to be referred to the Public Works Commission for their consideration. They will weigh the costs and benefits of the plan.
